Benoit van Asbroeck advises clients on a wide range of IP and IT-related issues, including, data, e-commerce, digital marketing, cloud computing, privacy, the Internet of Things, AI, 3D printing, cookies, electronic signatures, intermediary liability and automated objects. He co-heads Bird & Bird’s special interest group on Copyright. Advising on contentious matters in front of arbitral tribunals as well as national and EU courts, Benoit has successfully conducted landmark matters before the CJEU in copyright, trademarks and e-commerce.

He lectures at several Belgian and French universities on IP, intermediary liability and privacy and acts as a substitute commercial judge and mediator/arbitrator at the World Intellectual Property Office. Benoit is also one of 12 expert members of the Belgian Council of Intellectual Property, which advises the government on new IP legislation.
